Great (and easy) Homework Packet

While blog hoppin' awhile back I came across an absolutely simple homework packet created by Erin at Eberhart's Explorers and Katie at Little Warriors. Click here for the October packet on TPT. I am using these with my Pre-K class and I love it. It is simple to set up, I love sending it home on Monday and they have a whole week to complete it. It also includes a cute monthly family project. Thank you ladies for doing all the leg work. I highly recommend checking it out.

Best year so far!

Ok I feel like a horrible blogger. It has been a busy school year so far. I feel like I am treading water sometimes. I have to say though I have the best class that I have ever had. They are quiet, calm, sweet and smart. I was reading a story on the first day of school and I asked them if they knew what the person was callled that wrote the words and a few of them knew the word author, they also knew illustrator and pronounced it correctly too! These are 4 year olds. I also have a few that already know all of there letters and sounds, I have high expectations for this year. I will stop bragging now. Oh wait one more thing, every single one falls asleep during nap time too! Ok now I am done bragging. I really will post pics soon, I promise. Catcha' on the flip side!

Where Are We and Tape Dispenser

Ok, I have been a busy beaver today. I have been in overdrive make it mode and have made some great stuff for my classroom. First of all I made this "Where Are We?" board.

I still have to make the labels for it but I was proud of myself so I am posting it anyway. I also made these adorable (at least I think so) tape dispensers. I have had these things for a long time now and could not figure out what to do with them I didn't want to go bejeweled crazy, just wanted the right amount of bling.

Well what do you think? I think that they are super cute. I have 6 more to do (bought them on sale). Can't wait to give them to our secretaries. Tomorrow I am going up to my classroom to work. Our building is open this week and teachers go back next week. I will be posting some progress pictures over the next few days.

My Teachers Pay Teachers store is officially open!

I have posted my first item on TPT. It's simple but I wanted to try it out. Click here to download them. Let me know what you think. These will accompany my Pirate theme. I am going to make calendar numbers too! The only thing that bothers me is that the months aren't capitalized. Should I change the font?

Reply? HELP!

Ok, now that I have a few followers and I am recieving comments I would like to reply. I have noticed on other blogs after someone leaves a comment there is a reply button. I do not have this, is there a way to change that? Please help, and incase I can't figure it out thank you for trying.

Kids Say The Darndest Things

Smedley’s Smorgasboard of Kindergarten

I am linking up with Greg at Smedley's Smorgasboard of Kindergarten to share some of the funny things kids say. I tell myself every year that I need to write these things down. My favorite story though happened while we were learning about animal homes. We were on the playground and the kids found a ladybug. They came running over to show me so I asked them where they thought the ladybug lived and they thought about it for a minute when one of my sweeties says, matter of factly
"With his Nanny and Popo"

I just love that story. What is your Kids Say The Darndest Things Moment? Jump over to Smedley's Smorgasboard of Kindergarten and join the Linkey or just check out the other comments. By the way what a great idea for sharing Greg!

And the final results.

I used some shallow acrylic trays and filled them a little more than half an inch with warm water and added about 1/4 cup of dye. I placed the clothespins in and let them sit for about 10 mins turned them over and let them sit for ten more minutes. I took them out and let them dry on some paper towels. I love the way that they turned out and can't wait to use them in my classroom. Hope you like them.

OMG! I have a follower. Now I guess I have to start blogging more and blog hopping less. JK I am so nervous, there are so many talented teachers out there. I have been reading so many blogs and I am not sure if I am creative enough to do this. No I take that back I am creative enough just not sure about organized enough. Oh well, I guess the lazy days of summer need to be over anyway. I did finally decide yesterday that my theme for next year will be Pirates inspired by this set from Scrappin Doodles.

I have some creating to do!
